Removing Fog light trim

My painter said the paint won’t stick to the chrome?

 

I’m considering the after market black grille overlay and just vinyl wrapping the fog light bezels. 

Easy, sand the chrome coating off, then use plastic adhesion promoter. Then its just like painting any other part. 

 

If you just painted as is it wouldn't last long as these bezels peel very easy.
