4 inch lift only fits 33's?

I have a 2020 Sierra 1500 Elevation LM2 X31 crew cab standard bed.

Stock tire is 275/60R20 so a 33. The suspension kits I see say 4 inch allows 33 max.

I need some more articulation I was wondering what is the biggest that we can actually fully tuck in our body.

We have some pretty gnarly roads up here. I know a lot of people say that they can tuck a tire unless they're at an angle on a driveway and then it will rub. Well out here that's most likely going to happen at highway speed and instead of rubbing your going to literally rip the sidewall out of the tire. Lots of hidden mid corner g outs.

I've yet to run into a situation where I run out of ground clearance however my breakover angle needs to come up especially with the fuel tank sitting so low.

I’m running 305/55/20 with 0 offset on my AT4 and 4” total lift. The issue isn’t the height, it’s the wheel well width. I JUST clear the front liner (actually, I make minimal contact with it) at full lock. You could fit a little more tire under there if you’re willing to trim.

Here you can see there is plenty of height for articulation.

Thank you.

so I see stock size is 33 tall, your size is 33.2 tall.

Stock width is 10.8 you are at 12.

I assume the issue is the width. As in across the truck, rather than the diameter of the tire?

Did you do UCAs?

Yes, width as in across the tread, not across the sidewalls and wheel. If you went with a 10” wide tire, you might squeeze 34-35” in there, but I haven’t tried it to be certain.

Yes, I went with the ReadyLift SST, including UCAs, to keep as close to factory geometry as possible. It’s basically a 2” lift that sits on top of my AT4 factory 2” lift to get the total of 4”.

I was able to fit 35x12.5's on my truck with a 2.5'' level. I did have to pull the bracket out from behind the wheel liner and pin it back, but zero rubbing at full turn. Even wit a little articulation. The problem for the rubbing is actually part way through turning and it catches on the mud flap up front (for a split second). The only way I can see to stop this issue is to norcal mod the fender. Which I do not want to do. Stock UCA's are not an issue. But the 12.5 wide tire is VERY close to the top of the spindle.

I have a trail boss so 2” factory lift I have 34” nittos had to pull back liner and trim mud guard, I’m told gmc have even less clearance so unfortunately without minor trimming no amount of lift seems to help gm trucks clear tires that I don’t feel are even that big, with a 4-6” lift 37” should be the topic of discussion but oh well just looked at the dealers 6” lifted trucks yesterday in my town, they are running 35” by 12.5” wides and they have the liners basically shaved in half on both gmc  and chevys.

Ouch. 33 should be fine. Wayy to much ice, snow, and -40 temps to trim any liners. Don't want ice/brine getting all into any harnesses. Really thinking about ICON, or a filthy Motorsports kit.
