SOLVED. After two years, and here is what caused it in my case. I called OnStar even though I do not pay for the service, and they explained to me that I have OnStar connected services whether I'm paying for their extra services or not. They instructed me to look at the Users on my car, and I had two of them: one for my wife and one for me. She said that each user needs to have a connected profile, and mine was connected but my wife's was not. She sent my wife a password reset link, she set her password, and then entered it in the car when the prompt showed up, and that took care of it.

Absolutely ridiculous that the car dealer had no idea what was causing it. Even more ridiculous that the error gives you absolutely no information about what user/password was not connecting.

I came here for the same reminder. I appreciate the help; it's fixed. I updated my app and now it says I'm in Canada and I cannot change it to the US. Nice job Chevrolet!
