2000 K3500 ac system fix

Still working on the plow truck. Ac compressor was shot and made noise even with it off.

Replaced compressor, dryer (had to heat both nuts up!) and went to replace the orifice but had to heat that tube up too, ended up melting orifice. Wouldn’t come out.

Added oil to compressor.

New condenser en route next week. Then a vacuum and charge.

Condenser shows up today. Hope to get the old one ripped out tomorrow and replaced, with the new orifice tube.

Should go pretty smooth. Then vacuum and charge. Hope to be blowing cold air soon. It's been hot and humid!

Well the threads on 1 of the 2 pipes stripped! Waiting for replacement..... easy swap out though.

So found the problem, when I heated up the nut to get it off, it sucked the aluminum thread with it. I need an entire new upper hose, goes from condenser, to top of compressor, back around to the dryer. Already ordered. $80. I should FINALLY be able to get it all hooked up and vacuumed then charged!!
