Regear to 4.88s

Well after so long of waiting I finally did it. I referred my 2014 Chevy 1500 5.3l. Originally had 3.08 gears.

My truck is lifted with 35s and it sucked.

Did the swap over a few days.

 

The factory set of rear gears had NO preload on the carrier bearings and the pinion had almost none.

The front seemed set up alright. But the gear line was full of metal.

 

Can’t wait til they are broke in.

So how do you like them? How big of a difference have you noticed and mileage as well?
