GM accessories Lockable Console Number Setting Question

The truck came with the "programmable" settings to choose which 4 number lock number sequence for the GM accessories console locking compartment. The instructions that were inside the compartment to describe setting the lock leaves a lot to be desired. It describes using a bent paper clip or similar to press in somewhere while you set the numbers for the new sequence but it says you have to turn the knob and then press in the clip or some crap like that. I'm not quite sure where they're telling me to put in the tip of the clip. 

 

Are they talking about the little hole in the knob? It seems easy enough, but I'm simply trying to understand this setup. That little hole in the knob actually looks like a set screw or something. Could be wrong. Anyone have this lockable console vault thing? Haven't found much of anything on the interwebz discussing this thing. And unless I missed it, can't find anything here on the search that discusses how to change the number sequence.

Yup, I just removed mine yesterday as I prefer the larger console size without the locker. My gun is always on me, so don't need the safe. I just used a punch to push in the hole at bottom of knob and set code while holding it in. U can use paperclip or whatever, easy to do, not very secure.

It passes the lock test so in the event, say, I happen to put something in there that requires locking while out of the vehicle, it meets the minimum requirements for state laws. It was already there and I couldn't unchoose it, and I don't use consoles much anyway, so I'm gonna use it for that. I figure if they want it that bad, even a lockerdown ain't going to save it.
