What lifts do people recommend?

Hi guys,

 

I just bought my first vehicle, a Chevy Silverado crew can 1500 custom. 
 

I am very much a noobie. I wanted to know the different kinds of lifts people have and how it affects driving. I’ve been looking at getting a 3” lift but have no clue where to start. How different is a 3” lift from a 6” lift? Are there huge differences? Or if there is little difference, is it mainly the price that is a the big difference?

 

What would even be a fair price for a 3” lift if I were to get it done some place?
