Trailering with the Z

I had a Wells Cargo trailer magically appear in my garage this afternoon(ok, maybe it was somewhat expected, but not htis soon). The GVWR is 2900, so my first concern is- do I need any kind of braking system/controller, or would letting the truck brake be ok?(The trailer is about 10ft long with a single axle.

Secondly, the thing has a 4 pin connection for the lighting, what is the stock pin # for the Z71/Z85(I think(or Z82...the trailering package). I just need to know what adapter I need for this trailer.

Hmmmm....My adapter came with the tow package. It's a 7 pin plug, so you need a flat 4 pin -to- round 7 pin adapter, I would guess.

No, you don't need trailer brakes for that weight. You will feel the added resistance when braking, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Excellent, I thought it was a lucky 7, but I didn't want to run and buy the wrong one, and I figured I'd get an answer here before I'd find it in the manual. Thanks guys.

I have seen those adapters at Wal-mart and other places around here too. The trailer doesnt even have brakes if it has a 4 pin connector, so no need to do anything to your truck!
