4wd Switch 2004 Suburban z71

My 4wd switch on the dash seems to change from 2wd to 4wd high and even 4wd low--without my input.  I know this is a common problem.  I replaced the switch years ago and that seemed to fix the problem.  I just replaced it again because the problem is happening again (this time with a cheap switch) and it did not fix the problem.  The actuator seems to work.  Any ideas?  Should I stick with an expensive OEM switch?  The burb has 181k on it and it's been great except for this.

I had a similar problem with a 4WD switch and it turned out to be caused by cold solder joints on the back of the circuit board behind the selector. I few minutes with a soldering gun, and the problem went away. That seems to be a common problem with te GM electronics.

mine had that issue.  i replced the encoder in the transfer case and that solved mine
