Sorry if this was discussed... the search in tapatalk sucks.

Ive seen some put a piece of material behind the grill to make the grill lettering coloured.

Want to get rid of the work truck looks but keep the offroad look like the trd pro and rebel with the brushed aluminum lettering.

Anyone done this? I dont have my truck yet so take it apart and see for myself.

My company has a ton of anodized aluminum on hand and was thinking of throwing some behind or white to match the paint.

Also its a piss off this trucks called a “custom” makes googling very annoying

47x 2 7/8" strip cut from metal roofing. Painted with color match spray paint, coated with rock guard clear vinyl and inserted in grill.

The tricky part is removing the 2 piece grill. Remove top cover. And the 2 piece front part is installed with clips on the back side. I grabbed the grill near the z71 logo and near center and with a swift pop, pull outwards, bit not over 2" or so out, cause once clips are loose, it comes out and up to clear. Move to center then other end. It is really scary to do the first time. The Chevrolet strip has a scree at each end and about 20 clips. That's easy insert and reassemble.

Luckily im an estimator at a commercial glas and aluminum company. Ill just get the boys to rip some anodized aluminum!

Edit:

Went downstairs and they sheared it in 30 seconds with the press. Just a dial... 2.875 boom cut. Then 47, boom cut.

Now to install this weekend.
