Possible to install a DVD Player where cassete is?

For a 00-02 sierra/silverado, the cassette is a slave unit below the hvac controls in the center console area. I want to put a Pioneer DVD (AVX-P7300DVD) in it's place but i'm not sure if it'll work. I don't have a truck yet; this is part of the research i'm doing to see if all my grand ideas will work (want to turn it into a show truck). Anyone know if this will work or has anyone tried something like this? Is the cassette a 1-din size or would custom cutting be needed? Or does anyone know by chance if this could be a direct plug-n-play, or would a more trick install be needed for the DVD to work?

I've seen many things in the cassette location, dvd players, pop up cd players, lcd screens... so yea it's very possible

a DIN is wider, so it would have to be cut a little..but I dont think its going ot be tough..lots o' room in there!!!
