hi, im doing a swap with a remaned 5.3 gen 3 and im just about ready for re installation, however after finally get a hold of some 16mmx1.5 fittings for the oil galley and oil pressure sensor ports im a bit curious on the process even after much research im wondering if i should fill the crankcase with oil normally before priming the oil pump system? or should i just pump all the oil in through the galley? ive seen videos where i should pump through the system until oil comes out from the lifters but as i said before i am undecided if i should do this process after i fill the crankcase or prime and then fill crankcase.. much appreciation. thanks

If you fill the oil pan and then prime it with oil you could end up with too much oil that you'd then need to drain.

Just prime it through the port some and fill the crank case. Then remove the fuel pump relay and use the starter to prime the rest.

I believe you can floor the gas pedal and turn the key;   the starter will spin but wont let it start.  Then the oil gets pumped by the starter. Then once u have some built up, take your foot off the skinny pedal and fire it up
