That grill/vent above the rear view mirror

That grill or vent above the rear view mirror? Does anyone know what it is? If I were to 3d print a triple gauge pod to install in that location right above the mirror...what would I possibly be blocking?

Think it’s a temperature sensor under there. At least when you look up the cover it lists it as a temp sensor.
