Anyone install 2016 OEM running boards on 06?

Has anyone ever installed factory running boards from a 2016 crew cab onto a 2006 2500 HD crew? I have a nice set from a buddy but not sure how much it would take to install on my 06. Anyone looked into it done this before? Thanks!

2007+current boards install on the inside of the rocker panels.  The 2007-prior trucks used the body mounts, even the OEM boards.  

 

TLDR, won't work unless you are willing to put a bunch of holes in the lower and inner rockers.
