Duramax

Happened to notice last week that Phillips(I believe) has lightbulbs which use "Duramax" on their packaging and the TM logo after it. I found that rather interesting and wonder if the folks at GM are aware.

I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know the underlying law, but basically a name like DuraMax can be used on other products as long as they aren't 'copycats' of another product which uses the name.

In other words, it wouldn't be legal for someone to produce another automotive engine called Duramax, but you might name a totally unrelated product, like a brand of flashlight batteries called DuraMax.

For another non-truck related product called Duramax, follow this URL:

It's amazing what you can find with a google-search!

Look at the stunt that Spike Lee pulled when TNN announced the name change to Spike TV.

Yeah...I should sue Peter Jackon (director of Lord of the Rings trilogy)....His studio is called "Wingnut" films.

When I get rich off of this....I'm going to buy 5 H2s just to pi$$ off Paco.

Funny that you should post this. I was in a meeting today and I noticed that the sketch board in the corner of the room was called a Duramax. Yes, the meeting was a little dull. lol
