Digital dual climate controls hvac frozen

New at forums. I have 2013 gmc 2500 that is having hvac freezing issues. After a while of driving I can't change temp, speed, direction, or off. All buttons do nothing. I can turn off truck and turn it back on and everything works again for a few minutes. Went away for few months and randomly came back. 

 

Side note the outside temp shows blank lines on dash cluster randomly then shows temp outside. I don't know if this is a part of issue or something else. Thanks for any help.

Should try scanning the BCM to make sure the ambient air temp. sensor is reading correctly, but it sounds like you might need a new HVAC controller.
