CEL and zero oil pressure

Anyone have a CEL then oil pressure gauge shows zero pressure? It’s full of oil and no knocks, ticks or rattles so likely something with gauge or sending unit. Was forced to drive 100km and didn’t seem to have any other issues.

I'm sure the experts will chime in, but if the gauge showed zero pressure along with the CEL, I'd be concerned about an oil pump failure being the culprit, in which case I wouldn't recommend driving it.  Having said that, if the oil pump had failed I would of thought you would have had other issues in the 100kms you put on it with that condition, so hopefully it's just a bad gauge or sending unit.

My 2009 Silverado did something similar so I parked it and had it towed unnecessarily -- dealer said the fuel tank sender shorted out the CAN buss.  Only a couple gauges were affected, not all.

Had it in to dealer...paid my $200 warranty deductible and they don’t know what happened. Said the CEL wasn’t related to no oil pressure on gauge but it started working after they cleared the CEL.

Also to piss me off even more I noticed that the rear window is leaking and I am over 60K km so they won’t cover it. The dealer sent pics to GM to see if they can do anything for me. Fingers crossed. Urgh I love this truck.
