Thoughts on new HD Twins

I've given up on the search for now.

 

Built what I wanted and then requested quotes via chevy.com

Standard 2500HD LT, black, black cloth..z71.   Only option was cab marker lights.

Two dealerships got back to me: 

1.  Dealer #1 wants a $5k non-refundable deposit to order.   Says trucks are "unobtanium".  Good thing I already have one, then.  

2. Dealer #2 - Apparently my build wasn't clear, and the "sales manager" needs to speak on the phone to determine exactly what I need.  I just got another email from this group today offering me "top dollar for my trade".  They won't even give me a price on a build without coming in to discuss.       

 

Another nearby dealership has three trucks I'd consider.   Back in 2018 when I started looking for my current truck, I was hey had a 2500HD that was optioned exactly how I wanted, they brought out the 4-square and tried some high pressure sales tactics by bringing in the "closer" to steal my trade, ending with the "we can't find the keys to your trade".   I told them they had 30 seconds to find them before I was going to raise hell.  They guy pulled the key out of his desk, I grabbed it and walked right out the door.  Manager followed me out asking for another chance.   No thanks.   Ended up in the 2019 GMC a few months later, almost identical truck.  

 

Phone has also blown up with texts/calls even though I didn't provide my phone number on the inquiry page.
