Hey guys, just picked up a 21' 2500 HD custom (gas) non Bose.  Purchased Infinity Kappa tweets, 6x9's and 6.5's and will power them and my kicker sub with an Alpine 5 channel.  My questions are as follow.

1) will I need one of the LOC's I'm hearing about in the threads, or does my head unit have RCA outputs for my amp?

2) If so, what is recommended? I've read a little on LLJ , and PAC make em I believe?

3) This may sound ignorant, but will a 5 channel power my 6 speaker plus a sub setup? Not sure if I can count the crossover feeding my tweets and 6x9's as just 1 channel.

I've searched threads and YouTube looking into 2500 HD's only, but are all Silverados the same, there seems to be more search options if I include 1500's.

Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated! Cheers

You will need a LOC unless your amp is capable of taking speaker level input vs RCA.  The LOC will give you control for getting it dialed in as well versus just having raw signal (good or bad).

My installer had me purchase the T Harness from LLJ (still waiting to receive it at this point) as nothing else was available to him currently. Metra, PAC, etc either didn't have anything he could find or there was nothing available to order.

He could cut and solder but the harness will make it neater, faster, and easier.

Rockford 5 channel amp I use to power focal rear doors, focal front speakers (separate with crossover) and kicker sub:

Good luck and enjoy your much better sound when you are done.

Thanks Knight. I've heard the lead time from LLJ could be a while, I may just order it now. I do appreciate the feedback, and know 5 channel will work as well 👍

I see several harness available at LLJ, can anybody tell me the specific one I'll need for a 7" non Bose. Will I need the fullamo kit setup, or do I just call them and ask?

I'm assuming the screen size doesn't matter from when I was poking around their site.  More Bose/non Bose and need to know your connector colors above kick panel behind the glove box (black/gray or aqua/tan).

T-harness lets you run your wire from amp to speakers however you wish to do so.  Their loop back supposedly returns the wire from your amp back to the factory harness location to use factory speaker wiring from what I understand.

But by all means shoot them an email.  Very friendly.  It did take a full day+ for them to answer me though.  I take it they are pretty busy.

Are you guys with door speaker upgrades running new wire to them, or sending amplified signal through OEM speaker wires?

I'll be running 75 watts rms 4ohm.. Just want to know if it's best to go up a gauge or two on the connections

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
