Looking to possibly move from a 2018 Ram Eco Laramie loaded up to a Limited but was impressed by a 2500 High Country a friend picked up. What is the best 1/2 ton option for an equivalent to a limited 1500 Ram? Is it High Country or LTZ? What packages are must haves for daily driver and occasional winter towing?

Definitely want all the bells and whistles - also the new 10 speed transmission of going to a gasser again. Diesel upgrades from all are too much for 3.0L.

Thanks!

High Country, or better, Sierra Denali, would be the closest to the Limited. Obviously still not as nicely finished inside, IMO. Once you get up to either of those trims there are not a ton of option packages to be added. High Country has the Deluxe and Technology packages, and the Denali has the Ultimate package. Might as well go all the way.

10 speed would be standard on either gas or diesel engine in those trims.

Well then, the GMC Denali is definitely for you. Its covered in chrome plated bells and whistles.

(After all, its your money not mine.)

When shopping for my wife's recent new Acadia, she demanded adaptive cruise control. So that limited our choices. I could do without all the other nanny systems. I suggest you research and figure out what "package" you will actually be happy with and start from there. Every half ton GM makes is suitable for daily driving and occasional towing.
