My 2020 Sierra started doing this Thursday and I’ve deleted Alexa and Spotify and no change. It comes on when I start truck and then goes away. Everything is working. I’m afraid to delete SiriusXM or an app I use cuz not sure u can get it back.

I can’t speak to the SiriusXM app but I was able to reinstall the Spotify app.

I deleted the Alexa and Spotify App and yes it can be reinstalled. I am worried it is the SXM app that is causing my message when I start truck. It goes out when radio loads. Everything is working so it is very odd. I feel like if I delete SXM app it may be unable to be put back in.

This started yesterday on my 2020 Silverado. Must be something GM pushed out, as we all started getting this error about the same time.

2020 Traverse here, started last week...i had an app called 'GMBug Report' that keeps trying to open and wouldn't delete, finally was able to delete it after about 8 or 9 tries...i think it wouldn't delete because it would try to open and it would cancel out the Uninstall, hope this helps

My 2020 Silverado started doing this a couple days ago too. Took it to dealership and they said GM should be working on a fix.

I only deleted the Alexa app and it stopped mine.

It will pop up at start maybe once - but it won't flash anymore after that.

Do you have more than one user on the truck? I went through the other users and deleted apps too.

For me - it was the Alexa app only that stopped the flashing message.

Mine stopped doing it today. Assuming GM pushed out an update after taking it to the dealership yesterday. All is working normally now.

**Edit: it came back the next day.

I finally got the message to stop. With the truck running and in park, from the home screen went into "Apps", then too "My Apps". All the apps had a "Open" or "Trash Barrel" choice except the Amazon Alexa and Weather channel apps, they add a update box instead of a open icon.

Took me a couple tries, but hitting update to manually do the updates finally worked. Watched it do the upload and the update box changed to the open icon.

No more messages flashing on the infotainment screen.

I was also logged into my home wifi at the same time, don't know if that made a difference?

I have had it to the dealer 3 times, they have no clue how to get it to stop. Mine has been doing it for a year. GM has never figured out what is wrong with this information center and now has a new one good luck. And I forget I was a member here and just like that I deleted my Alexa app and that flashing light is gone. Thank you. I got my 2020 Silverado built just before everything was shut down and it been the best truck I have had with no other problems other than this.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
