2021 Silverado Duramax 3.0L DEF Sensor Issue

Recommended Posts

I have a 2021 At4 3.0 diesel truck.  I have about 6700 miles on it, I have used about 16 gallons of DEF, which seems very abnormal.  We went camping pulling a 6000lb camping trailer.  The engine light came on with an emission service code. The cooling fan was also making some strange noise. I took the truck to the dealership to have it inspected. They told me that the truck needs a new Nox sensor, they also found that the water pump was damaged and it also has to be replaced. I was told that the nox sensor is on back order and It’s supposed to take about 3 weeks for them to get the parts. It’s been 2 weeks and no parts yet.  It’s very disappointing to spend 70k on a truck and have these issues a few months later.
