Bed rail cap removal

I’m thinking of buying a fiberglass topper for my truck and am wondering about the plastic bed rail caps. My truck is white and I think the combo would look better without the black strip between them. Are these even removable?

Yes, they are removable.  They clip-in much like the fender well trim pieces do.  However, once removed they are generally replaced because they don't come off easily and are often damaged.  I'd make sure the cap completely covers the area taken up by the bed rail caps before removing them.  The end result might not be satisfactory if they don't.
