restraint system warning chime

I own a 2021 2500HD (less than 1,000 miles) with a defective steering column air bag. Dealer ordered replacement air bag but GM says 3-4 weeks before received. Warning chime is repeatedly going off for “service safety restraint system.” Very annoying! Anyone know how to silence chime til repair is made? Which fuse or where chime is located for removal?

New vehicles aren't like the old ones, where you could just pull a chime/buzzer.  It goes through the stereo.

 

So, only option would be to disconnect that in the meantime.

Cant believe your dealership gave you back your truck without a steering wheel air bag this could run into all kinds of legal issues if you get into and accident.

sorry. they did put old one back in and said it does work. something about the contacts on the air bag are tarnished and not making good contact.

I had the same issue on my 21 Sierra. They had to replace the Airbag, the harness and a coil? it was something about seeing too much resistance. They diagnosed and re assembled and i drove it until the new parts came in. They told me the same, a few weeks. The parts came in within a week though
