Transmission binding

Hey I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 z71 4x4 with 167000 miles on it. I was recently at work and driving through wet ground so I engaged 4wh, I forgot to turn back into 2wd and felt the transmission bound up when going from ground to pavement.  I put back into 2wd and worked fine. As a noob to trucks and 4wd I wasn’t sure what was going on. I drove about a hour back to my house with no issues and and wanted to see what was going on so I put the truck back into 4wd and did the same thing. I now know that it’s not a good idea to put into 4wd on the street especially when making a turn so my question is did I royal screw up my transmission and how do I know if I did?

doubtful it has anything to do with your tranny.  More likely its your transfer case, or bad Ujoints.
