I have a 2013 gmc sierra 1500 2wd with a 6l80e in it I believe. When I was driving down the road and it went in a certain gear it would like lock up n squeal for a second n then shift out. But now it's stuck in a gear. No matter if it's in park or reverse or neutral it wants to go forward. Any idea on what happened and what I should do. Thanks

you may want to check your shift linkage/cable and be sure its still hooked.

sounds like the clutches have welded themselves together probably from fluid starvation if the linkage checks out

low fluid level or clogged filter, its also possible that something broke inside the trans. either way if the linkage checks out ok its time for a rebuild or used trans

If the outside linkage is still good and attached, you can drop the pan and check the connections on the inside.

Would be nice to put a Tech-2 on it and see what it's doing.  You can go to youtube and watch Precision Transmission's tear down videos on the 6L80 (other have good videos too) and see how the shift linkage inside is supposed to connect.

You can rebuild the solenoids in the TECHM on your kitchen table for about $110 plus fluids; if that is the problem.
