Tucson_02Silverado Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 The ACTUAL twist at the end was COOOL.
03Bowtie Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 the real TWIST is that the SSR is such a big dissappointment. It looks cool, but that's about as far as the cool factor goes. The performance characteristics are definitely lacking. It's almost like Chevy is scared to build a fast truck!?!? The Silv. SS could have been epic, and this SSR could have been really cool too. It's like they're content building vehicles that just look cool. We all know they have the ability to make rockin' engines. Why can't they put the engine from the vette in that SSR???
J-rod Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 Well said Bowtie! Personally, I don't really care what they do with the SSR, but I've still got my fingers crossed that the General will open his ears to hear what any GM truck fan has been screamin for ... a *REAL* Silverado SS!!! In other words, a swb, reg cab, big block, Turd Lightning Slayer!
SnakeEyeSS Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 thanks for the link, I've been wanting to d/l that!
Chris97K1500 Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 With GM building a stictly High Performance Engine shop outside of Detroit, I think it will only be a matter of time until a true high performance SS truck is made. With GM Chief Engineer Dave Hill already publically stating the next generation Z06 Vette, due out in '05 will have 500hp 427 Cubic inch V8 and a Supercharged 7.0L 625hp motor is in testing. This plant is going to make about 10,000 powerplants a year for GM's high performance factory vehicles. I think the General is waking up and will come out with something for all the true high performance guru's. If they build the SC'ed 427 with 625hp, I'll have my name on an order list faster than that car can get to 60mph, which would be around 3.5sec! Chris
General Lee 01 Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Seeing as how this isn't a product review, I'm moving it t where it fits better. Which would be the General\Off Topic area.
atomoverride Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 a supercharger and your typical gmc/chevy sierra/silverado truck can get over 500 horsepower easy.
