Well today in my travels i decided to stop by the new subdivision where I put money down on a lot. Lots of bulldozers. No roads yet (they are packed down and marked all they need is concrete).

 

If you look straight back by the trees thats the area my lot is in. There was no way for me to get back in there. Hopefully it will be about a yr from now that I will break ground

Congrats. A year is an awful long time to wait for a new house. When we built it took about 7 months and I was on site every day. I caught and corrected a number of goofs or items that could be done better. Be sure to check what they build against your plans. Often times the framers improvise. In one upstairs bedroom, we were supposed to have a small, low storage area in the eaves behind a small closet. When they were done framing, the storage area had full headroom and was larger than planned. We had them make it into a large walk-in closet with shelves.

 

Make sure they don't forget things. Two items our builder had to correct were omitting the grab bars from the handicap bathrooms and no access to the largest attic area.

yea I know. To many rocks around and the equipment was blocking the good entrances
