Cell Phone Charge Indicator

I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and have a question about an indicator light.  I have at times when charging my iPhone in the truck, noticed that the small telephone receiver would show how much the phone was charged.  This is not constant and I wonder how I get this to show up all the time?

The battery percentage has nothing to do with the charging.  It also shows on trucks without the wireless charger.  It's whatever the battery level is on your phone.  It's based on your phone's connection to the truck via Bluetooth.

A little off topic but may help.

 

On the K2's, there will be a "lightning bolt" by the red phone icon when your phone is actually being charged by the truck's wireless unit in the center console.

In the T1s it's a green lighting bolt inside the yellow circle and next to the phone icon.  The battery percentage is off to the right on the bottom row (near the middle when in split screen).  The red icon, iirc, is climate control.  The green lightning bolt can turn yellow when there's an issue with wireless charging, such as the pad getting hot.  I haven't had that issue since getting the hvac tube that goes to the wireless charger installed.  What a PITA that was.
