What DON'T you like about your HD??

OK - Here go's.

 

I absolutely LOVE my truck but there are a couple little things that I don't like:

 

1> The horn is WAY too wimpy for a HD pickup.

 

2> The stock speakers in the base trim level suck. I wasn't expecting much but come on!

 

3> Not too crazy about the automatic lights. "I like flipping my own knobs, thanks"

 

4> Pretty long turning radius - I was expecting that one.

 

That's it. Nothing that a nice heavy stomp on the gas with the window rolled down won't fix - STRAIGHT AWAY

The department I used to volunteer for had an 87 full-size Jimmy which had a horn that sounded like a school bus...and it was stock. That was a nice ride for our purposes- community relations and auto lockouts, etc. I'd love to have that horn.

I don't like the fact that in my crew cab, I only have 3 power outlets....and they are all in the front....They could have atleast put one in each door (like the old days). it sucks to go on a long trip, and have my cooler power wire running to the front over the console.

 

Oh yeah and that it took me almost 2 years to find the power outlet for my engine block heater....I finally found it yesterday...not that I need/use it, but it is on there and I could never find it...LOL

Stock? Tires too small, sat too low (especially for a 4x4 HD-- although I know a large percentage of the population finds the ingress/egress better on GMs than on Fords and Dodges because of the lower sill height.)

 

No big deal, but I've never cared for the "4x4" decals. I peeled mine off. I know lots of people who like having 'em there. I would prefer some small tasteful chrome "4x4" metal emblems over the big decals.

 

I really think the LT should come standard with trip computer/fuel mileage/etc.--like the overhead console on my Grand Cherokee. While I'm it, how about also having, like the Grand, memory radio and outside mirror positions #1 and #2 instead of just the seat settings?

Agree with this one. I've always hated the auto headlights. Disabled them in my '99 and '02, haven't figured it out in the '03 yet.

 

 

Also don't care for the hood. Liked the HD hood on the '01-02. Differentiates it from the 1/2 tons. Now they all look the same. Gave it a big, burly look. Now kinda wimpy...

 

 

OEM tires could be bigger, and on wider wheels.

2. The 6.0 needs more torque.

 

3. Better sounding horn.

 

4. In my 40/20/40 seat, the 20 needs to fold down.

 

Other than that, I can't complain.

Honestly can't find too much I don't care for on my HD. Couple things I would like to see different though. Of course the small tires (fixed), the 4x4's should sit level and look like a 4x4 (fixed). Couple things I think that should come standard when you fork out the $$$ for the LT or SLT packages is the flares should be offered painted for all colors. Escalade style door handles should be available (fixed) and go back to the larger overhead console. Homelink should be available on the trucks too. I think its available on a $12k cavalier but not on a $50K loaded truck???? Other than small nit picky things, I have no complaints with my GMC.

3 also i like the center console in my '99 1/2 ton it had a ton more space and

it was deep,

4. need a lock on the center console or glove compartment (roscoe)

The horn thing might actually be fixable, I had one of mine go out and it sounded pretty wimpy, the dealer fixed it, now I think it sounds pretty good.

No flip down center console, only 2 power outlets in the 04's, no under hood light, no pockets in the back of the seats. I had the base model in 01 and all these things were standard. Not a huge deal but still looking for spots to put the stuff I had in those spaces.
