Couple different questions, or I would have been more succinct with the title.

1. Brand new truck (Sierra 2500, with roof lights), taken out for break-in run today and above about 80kmh, there is an audible whistling noise, emanating from what appears to be roof area (although I have not done a complete examination yet). As I have had a few previous trucks of various makes, none with lights and none with whistle, I wonder if it is light related?? Funny thing is, the sound is intermittent and comes and goes, even at the same speed(s), but no sign of this below 80k.

Anyone experience this and/or know how to eliminate?

2. And when I drafted an online build, I deleted the tow mirrors for the plain mirrors. On the GM site, the mirror option states the plain mirrors as Driver side with convex mirror and Passenger side as flat glass. Some photos showed a small convex mirror in the top left corner. When the salesman entered, and printed, this change, the code showed as DLN (for reference, old was DLF apparently). However, when the truck arrived, it has flat glass on both sides. I can't find any explanation for the DLN code that specifically states whether this mirror does/does not have the convex mirror included. When I asked the salesman about this, he assured me there is no convex attached. Not sure if he is correct or may have entered wrong component and ordered something I did not ask for. I just assumed DLN was code for the mirrors I was seeking.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to an explicit description of DLN and whether it does/does not include a convex mirror?

Thanks much,

From the GM Order guide (https://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/). Doesn't say specifically if the driver side is convex, but kind of conveys that by stating the passenger is not.

DLN   Mirrors, outside heated power-adjustable, manual folding, (Passenger mirror includes flat glass, not convex) smaller non-trailer mirror, 11.2" (284.73mm) x 7.15" (181.69mm)
1 - Requires (PCV) WT Convenience Package.
2 - Not available with (PQB) Safety Package.

Bytor62 - Thanks for the response. In reading the quoted text, I agree with your logic.

I am visiting the dealer today, to discuss a couple issues, and was hoping to find as much info on the mirror so I know what I am talking about when I bring this up.

Follow-up - I visited the dealer and spoke with the ordering manager. He advised the truck (SLE trim) is only available with either the tow mirrors or the plain (smaller) mirrors without convex on the driver's side. He viewed the GM site and was able to confirm the replacement mirror/convex mirror combo that I relied on, but could not provide an explanation as to why it was listed, other than to point to the GM's general statement "some items may be different....." that gives GM an out.

On the whistle noise:

There is a thread on this forum where a few guys were working to determine the whistle that comes from the hood area of the GMC.  One of the guys was using painter's tape to figure out the noise, and a way to resolve.

There were pictures posted in the thread of where the tape was applied.

Can't find that thread now.  Not sure if it was in troubleshooting, or the general forum.  From the thread it seems the noise is specific to the Sierra/Denali, not Silverado due to the difference in grill/hood.

ETA:  Found the thread.  Hope it is helpful.

Fwiw, the 2022 Guide shows DLF mirrors on the 1500's (both LTD and refreshed) but not on the 2500's
