lemkerailroad Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 I am looking for locations of speakers in my 2020 WT, I know the doors are 6x9 but is there any others in a standard cab with a IOR radio? I am looking to add as well if there is only the two speakers. What is a good speaker setup to put behind the seats and where else can I add speakers besides the doors??? Thanks in advance
cwtech Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 New guy here, but maybe I can help. My recently purchased 2021 WT came with the IOR radio and crappy speakers. ...The radio does not have balance or fade controls, but does have a 3-band equalizer. ....Doing my research here, I learned I wasn't the only one to complain of the poor quality sound. I replaced the 6x9 door speakers with Kenwood KFC-6966S 3-way's ($60) and the sound is incredible with the factory radio. Falsely thinking I had dash speakers, I bought Kenwood KFC-X2C speakers ($80) for the front corners of the dash. ....Upon disassembly I found no front speakers, but I was surprised to see there was factory-installed wiring for the speakers present, so I installed the Kenwoods. ....They are a perfect fit. The IOR radio is powerful enough to power the 4 speakers. ...Sadly, without a balance/fade control, the small dash speakers drowned out the 6x9's. ....I am installing L-pads so I can adjust the volume of the dash speakers separately. ...This should allow balance/fade to be adjusted for the fronts. I have considered mounting speakers behind the seats, but don't feel I need them. ....There is plenty of power in the factory amp, and it will pump out LOTS of volume. Adding rear speakers without having balance/fade control is one step backward IMHO. Many of the songs on my USB flashdrives would not play, so I had to convert the WMA files to MP3 format. ....Apparently the IOR will not read WMA files.
