I put new heads on my truck it took a few months with the battery off when I tried to start it it wouldn't start it's a 96 Silverado vortec 5.7

Have you tested the battery yet?

Make sure your grounds are all good.

Does it click? Fuel?

 

 

 

Did you even try to diagnose it?

there's a ground on the rear of the right head also 1 on the t-stat housing. also down near the crank sensor but I don't think any of those would keep it from cranking over.

I have checked all grounds everything is plugged up in right place. what I have found out is if I plug a code reader in I can jump it at starter relay. The fuel pump turns on the radio starts working headlights come on I have even drove it not far tho. it's like it draws power through the code reader. pull code reader out and everything dies like you turned off the key. but will not start by the key even when code reader is plugged in

that sure sounds like a bad ground to the ecm but bad grounds can do strange things and it may be else where. does the starter relay have a good ground?
