LED Signature Taillights

In August 2021, I bought a New Silverado Custom. It came factory equipped with the LED Signature taillights, but with the halogen headlights. In March of 2022, I traded it in on a ‘22 Silverado LT LTD. This one has the LED headlights and DRL, but strangely enough, halogen taillights. I’m not sure if the ‘22 came with a factory option of the LED taillights or not. My question is if I would order a set of the factory LED signature taillights for the ‘21, would they fit in the ‘22, and would they be plug and play?  I’m not a fan of the looks of the aftermarket ones that are available and would like the factory ones that my ‘21 had. Does anyone know the GM P/N for the left and right side lights?

I was surprised by your post. I had to go out and make sure but my 2021 Trail Boss Custom has the LED taillights and your higher trim truck doesn't? Maybe the chip shortage? The taillights should fit into a 2022 Limited but I would not know if these lights would be plug and play. Maybe check the dealers parts dept.

From what I have read the wiring harness for the LED equipped trucks and Halogen equipped are different.

what Dan said.  You would need an adapter harness for them to work.  Direct fit though other than that.  I've been researching this swap on my 22' Custom as well.  Sucks that trucks at this price point still have halogen lights.

Agreed, but I also found the inconsistency baffling. Halogen headlights with LED tail or LED headlights with halogen tail. Can’t we be uniform and go all halogen or all LED??

The six year old one armed and blind chinese kid can only produce so many LEDs in a 32 hour shift.

Part of the Custom Trail Boss package is LED tail lights. All other Custom trucks get regular halogen tail lights.

My ‘21 Custom was not a Trail Boss, it was the standard Custom and it had them.
