Hi guys. I have a problem with my 2008 Silverado 1500 crew cab. The passenger side switch only rolls the window down and now the lock won’t unlock or lock, it’s like it’s underpowered and gets stuck, however, you can still lock it manually. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks!

do you hear the lock solenoid when you try to lock/unlock? if so you may want to remove the door panel and try lubing the linkage for the lock and solenoid.  if that doesn't work replace the solenoid. does the master switch work for the window but not the door switch? if so it's probably a bad door switch , if not you may have broken wires in the conduit between the door and the body  more than likely on the drivers door as it sees more use. if you don't hear the lock solenoid broken wires may also be the cause

Yeah so I don’t hear any noise when I try, it’s almost like it’s underpowered or something. I replaced the passenger switch a while back and that didn’t help. The passenger switch brings it down but not up and the driver side can barely bring it up you have to press extra hard. I am thinking maybe some dirty or loose wires? Sorry for the long reply been busy.

Look for chafed wires first.  Then get it on a scan tool to pull the BCM codes.  Must be something with the weather, this is the 5th or 6th window thread in as many days.

Ok I’ll plan on doing that I just wanted to get some opinions before I tear it apart. That’s interesting... this has been going on for a couple months now and progressively gotten worse

Ok update. After taking everything apart I found that my door actuator was barely moving so that got replaced and now the door locks. I also got a window switch for the passenger after trying the back door switch and seeing that it worked and that fixed the problem also. That’s strange because in the past I replaced the switch and it didn’t help. The driver side works better now but it’s still a bit hard to se, I’m guessing it’s dirty. Anyway thanks for the help it’s all working now!
