Gibson or Borla Headers

Im leaning towards the gibson headers since Ive heard nothing but good things about their products. Besides, Borla is 200 more. I dont know if they are long tube, medium or shorty. Long tubes are the only ones showing real HP increases for the 5.3 LS1's correct?? My other choices are BBK, JBA, or Edelbrock. I know the JBA's are shorties so Im steering clear of those at this point. Thanks for any input.

If I was you I would lean toward the JBA or Edelbrocks,I do not care for gibson products at all.

Probably your best choices for hp is going to be

-JBA shorties/12hp

-TOG mid-lengths/15+hp

-ASM long tubes/22hp

Do not get shorties! The gain is not worth the cash! Get some mids or long tubes. You will NOT be dissapointed. Check out LaPole, Hamm, AS&M and TOG. Ive seen a set of AS&M's net dam near 38HP!!!!!!! When it comes to a bolt-on like this, you get what you pay for. SporSide5.3 is right! JBA makes the best shotries. Youd be lucky to see over 5HP on a dyno with the Gibsons.

If you are in CA, with a CA emissions truck, shorties are your only choice, because that the only type with CARB aproval.
