Hi all, so question on potentially upgrading to power mirrors. I have a 2022 Chevy 2500hd custom in the lower package (no powered mirrors). I am wondering if I could switch out the module on the drivers side door to the fold in mirror function and put powered mirrors on. I guess the question is does the pre-existing wiring support?

In the past and I think it still holds true is all the wiring is there just like most things.  The issue is on the door arm rest wil need the control or buttons which will still fit there.

The bigger issue right now is will the chips issues affect it?  In the past guys were doing this all the time, buy a stripped version and then a year down the road getting the parts and putting them in.  I was taking Ford XLTs in the past and for pennies on the dollar added things like automatic lights, fog lights etc.  Manufactures started getting wise to this and requiring an ECM reflash at a dealer, which some peoples dealers just do it or some were charging $100-$200 to do it

Probably no wiring exists to add them so you would need all the wiring harness's if you can find out which ones it would be.  Wiring harness can get very expensive.

not necessarily true.  They typically use the same harness in all the trucks, cheaper and easier to use one harness then make multiples.
