rear door handle entry button

my 5/22 build '22 High Country does not have the entry buttons on the rear door handles. my buddy's '22 AT4 does. his was a recent build as well.

 

I am wondering if the wiring is in the door and if the handles can be swapped. 

 

i know GM stopped the buttons for a while, but now it seems like a crapshoot as to which trucks get them

That's a good question.  They're on my 2021 GMC HD Denali.  Since the High Country is Chevy's top trim line, they should also be on yours.  Ask (complain) to your dealer.

my 2020 had them. I am going to the dealer today. I will inquire with the parts department. I have heard the wiring harness in the doors may be different

parts guy says the rear door handles require new wiring harnesses and possibly BCM programming.

I did see different rear door wiring harnesses listed.

I guess I won't be doing this mod
