leveling kit

I want to make the front a little higher. are there any suggestions on good ways to do this without sacrificing performance. I have a 99 silverado.

There are several posts on the forum about leveling your truck. Several options.

1. Crank the torsion bars to desired height.

2. Get the Ford torsion bar keys and install those in replace of the OEM keys and crank those up. Should give anywhere from 2-3" of lift.

3. Buy a Hill Leveling kit that gives you their keys and replace the OEM keys and crank those.

All of the above need a front end alignment after done. Any higher than these then you need to think about a body lift or a real suspension lift. These suggestions will also give you a stiffer ride, but if your like me then you dont really mind it. Stock is too sloppy for me. Makes the ol' lady sick sometimes.

and if your truck is 2wd you can try coil spring spacers if you can find them for a 99 or a spindle kit, like fabtech offers.

Many mixed opinions on this. Some say 'No Way' cause they can bind the CV's and cause your 4X4 to not work so well.

I say its fine. I cranked the OEM torsion bars on mine and I liked the results. It takes all of 30 mins to do it. You spend most of the time jacking the truck up then actually cranking. All you do is get the front wheels off the ground and you will see where your torsion bars come from the front suspension to the cross member. On the cross member you will see a bolt that hold the key in place. Crank that bolt on both sides the exact amount of times on each side. I cranked mine 6 turns and got like 1.75". Enough to make it level. I do want to purchase the for keys and some leaf spacers to get an overall lift with some new shocks of course.
