KARNUT Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) A new show on motor trend. I’m a couple of shows in and it reminds me of a lot of my projects. Mostly in my driveway. My cars were mostly in better shape but my approach was about the same. I was less financially stable and drove them. Running and performance was the goal. Less on looks. I remember a truck with a tiny hole in the floor. A little cardboard and bondo it was fixed. Seat covers fixed bad seats. Usually a little polished maybe a rattle can for the paint. I actually got pretty good at that. Eventually trading or selling up got me into pretty nice rides after awhile. Lots of hard work, but it paid off. Edited October 12, 2022 by KARNUT
Silverado4x4 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Same here Stan I remember using a sliced beer can to repair a hole in the exhaust pipe with muffler tape wrapped around. Got a hole in the muffler nothing but muffler putty couldn't fix same fix for a hole in the gas tank. Hole in the radiator solder seal or bars leak would take care of that. I use to carry a hammer in the car to wrap on the starter to get it to work. Brings back a lot of memories. As a kid I watched my dad break down a tire off the rim by running over the tire laying on the ground to break the bead and then using crow bars to remove the tire and in reverse to install the new tire on the rim tire balancing didn't exist, all bias tires. 1
