Hi all, new member here.  Got my truck in Mid October and have 2900 miles on it. Was wrestling with the decision because of the issues with these trucks I have read about online and all the Lifter issues, but since I got it I have absolutley loved everything about it until now.

Made a stop this morning on the way to a work appointment. Got back in the truck and restarted the engine, the guages lit up like a christmas tree with ESM Failure and Steering Assist failure and the engine light came on. The engine was really struggling and sounded way off, but the truck did drive albeit with noticably less power. I figured it was almost for sure the dreaded lifter failure. I was able to limp to the nearest GMC dealer 5 miles away, and they diagnosed it with a failed fuel injector on cylinder 6. Just curious if anyone else has had this specific issue on a newer truck like this? Mine was just built in August. I knew there were issues but dont remember reading about fuel injectors going out on a 5.3. Was told it will take 2 weeks just to get the part in.

Its a shame because I really like this truck, but a little inexcusable on a vehicle that has not even reach 3K miles. Thanks in advance.

GM has some sort of awareness on this:  Fuel Injector Causing Several DTCs to Set – TechLink (gm-techlink.com)

I'd imagine that GM has been calling back the ones removed for investigation to find out what/where the failure point is.
