Hi all. How many of you have 2wd trucks? Iam looking to buy a 2wd GMC reg cab 6.o 5 speed or auto. I know the g80 will be a must. Thanks all.

See below, both with locking rears. The 1500 also has traction control option, but I don't recall if you can get that on an HD --- get it if you can.

Truck is a 2wd with locking differential and it does well for traction.

It's a 6.0 with an automatic, I'd rather have a stick shift, but I wanted it right away, so I settled.

It's the LS package, so I'd call it the middle grade package, it has power windows,door locks,mirrors with turn signals, rearview with compass and thermometer read out, carpet(but rubber floor mats) cloth seats, center fold down seat,CD, but no cassette. Oh and A/C of course,dual batteries,towing package.

How does the 2wd do in snow and or ice? I put 200 lbs in the bed of my dakota 318 auto to get it to move. I showed my wife the 2wd dodge, ford,gmc and chevy 3/4 tons and she liked the gmc frontends better then the rest. She was surprised how tall the chevy and gmc sat compared to the ford and dodge. How does the 2wd do in snow and or ice?

It does pretty good with the locking differential, but you certainly can get it stuck easier than a 4x4. With the rear locker and some weight over the rear axle, mine will go through several inches of snow with little slippage.
