Has anyone put these headlight assembly's onto their k series gmc truck? Even at $1,300 it is still far cheaper than trying to find oem used denali lights and getting the gen conversion kit. Just wondering if anyone has bought and installed these lights, and if they have any issues getting them to work in an older 14 model with the factory led daytime lamps.

I bought these for my 14 denali last year. I would say if you want to upgrade your lighting, get led bulbs. If you want to upgrade housings, id take a second look at the ones by alpharex. These look great, but for 1300 dollars, i dont feel they are worth it. The projector beam is good, but has the typical aftermarket 'step' in it where the line isnt perfectly straight, and to me, that is annoying as hell. Id try to find factory denalis rather than buy these again, knowing how the beam pattern is. Install is plug and play and works with any factory setup.

The denali oem 16+ lights are literally double the price, they are now 3k so they are out of the equation and getting them used on ebay more or less gets you a used beat up light with 9 times out of 10 multiple tabs broken and would cost the same 1,300 these brand new Morimoto lights cost. And then you still would need to buy the 200 dollar plus gen connector to make them work in my 14.

I'm surprised as you sound like you didnt like them, i have vled bulbs now, led bulbs wont help a headlamp with a pile of trash projector which is one of the things fixed in the morimoto lights, maybe you installed them wrong or didn't aim them properly  because the light output is double that of an oem housing with the hid bulb never mind the trash hir ones that my 14 came with according to some youtube reviews i found. The alpharex ones are decent but they are not cheap going with the led kit version, around $800 and their daytime lamps do not have that factory type clean look to them that the morimoto's have, they are bulky and look kind of cheesy to me which is one thing nearly all aftermarket type lighting seems to be, except for these ones.

I have the 2014 Silverado version of those lights and I am happy with my purchase. They are expensive, but the build quality is good. At that time it was the only possibility to upgrade to LED Headlights, as those are DOT Certified. LED Bulb Kits and all that stuff are not legal here and will get you fined.
