Newer transfer case
Stock driveshaft ( front and rear)
A.c. stock

What I want:

• L8t- 6.6l
• Btr stage 2 or better
• 2k stall
•10l90
• 4.10 gears
• Same weight
• Same tires
• <20k miles drivetrain
• 4 button 4wd
• Drivetrain matched transfer case and drives haft (splines)
• Keep A.C.
• Stand alone wire harness (speartec or swaptime)  with proper controllers
• Reverse lights and neutral safe

As u know the truck is 20yrs old as of Jan 2024. No emissions here in johnston county,  NC.  (400+hp) 400sbc with a 10spd & that low 1st gear w/ 4.10's. Come on! Yall have got to be drooling .  What are somethings that I need to lookout for?

I can find a complete "pull out" for less than $7k..... w/warranty (90day -6mo) or COPART. But that's a 6sp auto not the 10sp. I thought of piecing throughout the year and just testing components b4 their warranty run out.

I'm mechanical,  I swapped 2 thirdgen v6 to a fourth generation rear, vortec sbc, 4sp auto, w/sniper induction.  Also bbc/400 swapped my dads c10. So I know some. Just need tips and tricks - do's and don't......

I need the pros and experts.......I'm only doing this ONCE

I'd go for the 6.2, it would be a better candidate than the 6.6 for a performance go fast swap. 

 

Overall - you must REALLY like that truck to put that kind of time money and effort in to it.
