new silverado

is it just me or does any one else hate the '03 silverado new design. it is the ugliest truck i have ever set eyes on and i will never buy another chevy truck if they are going to look like that.

 

someone tell me why gm would redesign the best selling truck fo something that looks like....well words cant describe how stupid those new trucks look.

 

and why in the #### would the silverado ss...a sport truck...be an extended cab....what is gm thinking. the guy in charge of the truck department needs to get canned pronto.

i think they are butt ugly.  there are too many conflicting design elements.  i think the new front clip looks out of place and should be reconsidered.  the GMCs are better, but they would look much better if the emblem was in the center of the grille

Good.  Now we have three ugly half-ton pickups.  The new Ram looks like a catfish.  F150s have more curves and bulges than a 55 yr old streetwalker.  Take your pick!

they are the best looking trucks to EVER come out... it's about time gm got away from the rounded off ####...

 

every one that thinks they are ugly are just stuck in the past and don't like change

 

and the ss is extended cab because none of us that are over 6'5 and 250lbs like to be crammed in a small butt regular cab pickup that has performance potential.

 

it's an extended cab for the same reason  ford put out the harley edition and dodge the new crew cab with the upcoming hemi motor.  people want and NEED space nowadays,  times change we don't have room for anything in regular cabs,  no people room, no leg room, no stereo room, no storage room.

 

i want a ss based truck that comes from the factory with power and the potential to be a lethal drag and street truck.

 

if you are never gonna buy another chevy because of change then good enough,   we don't need you on our side. we have plenty that like the looks and I bet my bottom dollar that they will sell more than the gen4 silverado's when they underwent their first drastic change.

i love change, i just don't like the 03 silverados!  imo the GMCs are nice...a billit grille would look great on one...

i don't like the gmc's   basically because I never have lol  I'm a pure chevy guy when it comes to GM..  it's always been that way in my family and always will be..  sure there was some nice customized ones but i'd pick a silverado over a sierra anyday.

For the 100th time...I LIKE THEM!!!  Have you seen one in person?  I have!  Pictures just don't photograph it properly.  Is it the best looking truck ever made?  IMO, No!  I like the current ones better.

 

Funny thing is though, GM is selling Avalanche's faster than they can screw them together and TrailBlazer's don't seem to sit on dealer lots very long either, which means someone, somewhere likes the look.  Come 5 years from now when Chevy is the undisputed sales leader (without GMC's help) we'll all be laughing about how silly the people who thought they were ugly will be eating crow.

 

Keep in mind, in 99 when the new Silverado came out, people complained then too.  Now look at it...#1 selling fullsize in the U.S.A.  Face it, people don't like change!  The new front end = change.

 

I really don't want to comment on the SS, I feel very let down as I wanted a Lightning slayer BADLY to put right next to my mustang slayer in the garage.

i test drove a 03 the other day and I was in heaven the whole time... just the looks I got while driving it  was enough to sell me.

I dunno. so far it seems 50/50 here in this thread.  I imagine that if this were the same thread back in 99, it'd also have been 50/50.

 

Once again though, once they become mainstream, people won't care.  It'll be the norm.

concerning sales, i still don't see how the face lift will help GM.  there are so many people that think it's ugly, AND there are no real engine changes.  it's just a facelift at this point.

It all boils down to a matter of personal preference, something isn't going to look great to everyone.  But, I like them and think that they look ver cool.

even if ya can't beat one racing stock,  chevy will always be able to beat ford in everything else because they are CHEVY and not the others.

 

heck  I'd even drive a lifted truck before even ride in a ford, and that's saying alot.

 

 

just take the mods off the HD and put em on the ss and there ya go lol

 

I understand where ya coming from tho, with what all fords getting out of the lightning and if toy and dodge release their sport truck  that puts chevy back in last place in the performance department...   still 1st in looks but last in go-go
