I just picked up a 2007 GMC c5500, it's an old U-Haul truck I got for cheap but I can't get insurance on it. The first insurance company, state farm can't figure out how to classify it and the second one just straight up said they couldn't insure it because it's a cargo truck. It's not a cargo truck, there's no box on it and I plan to shorten it and put a flat be on it. My question is, has anyone delt with old U-Haul trucks before? And how much should insurance be on one of these? I'm located in north Georgia if it helps.

Being an old U-Haul truck shouldn't make a difference.  Over a certain GVW most insurance companies will classify it as a commercial truck but if you are not using it for business the cost shouldn't be too high.  Try Progressive, they will insure just about any vehicle.
