I previously was posting on here about my 2022 GMC Sierra LTD . Well one deer collision later and an incompetent bodyshop ruining the truck I'm now in a new body style 2022 Silverado RST! I've had it 5 months/ 7k and the fun has started on this one now.

I noticed when wiping all my door jambs after giving the truck a good cleaning from winter that I'm already having paint bubbling on the door seam half way up the door on the passenger rear. Dealer is sending photos into GM and they were surprised as they haven't seen this before but this place thankfully has a really good body shop. I did check all the other doors and other than some sloppy seam sealer this was the only spot with any issues.

Guess we'll see what happens but if you have a new 2022/2023 Silverado you might want to do some inspecting. For some context thus far I've had two recalls, backup camera replaced under warranty, this paint issue, pending warranty claim for the steering making popping noises and a steering wheel scroll wheel that has a mind of its own. Fun times with GM.....

Looks like seam sealer/panel bond glue to me.

Here is a better photo. Dealer called and said GM wants them to sand it down and see what is going on.

Looks a lot like seam seal leached out before it hit the spray booth.  Whatever part of assembly that puts the doors together (inner and outer shells).  Will be interesting to see what they find.

Interesting, especially since the doors are aluminum, both the inner and outer shells.

That's what I was thinking as well. It can't be rust.  Hopefully it isn't some type of deterioration in aluminum.

Yep, that's just the bonding stuff they use to build the door.  It's not uncommon.  I'm surprised they're even doing anything about it, it's not really abnormal.

It's not corrosion, it's foam they use at the factory to fill gaps and imperfections in the manufacturing process.
