If you do check out Ooma. Internet based phone service. My brother in-law has had this for a while. We just got it.

Upfront about $ 130.00 for the basic plan and the fee to keep your phone number. $6 a month basic plan.

We had a free land line for incoming calls 25 cents out going. We had it strictly for 911. We finally unplugged it because it rang constantly with solicitation. We haven’t had one for at least 5 years.

Once we got 911 with cell service in our county post 2018 Spring fire we dropped ours.

My land line is with Spectrum (CATV) Business and its only $19.99 month with $49.99 300mb Internet.   Was paying ATT nearly $150 month for same services.  What ATT was charging mega $ for, Call Forwarding and Caller ID, is included with Spectrum at no extra cost.  Not to mention ROBO calls and spam are greatly reduced because they stop know issues.  Plus I got a 2nd line free for a year, cell phone that I forward all land line calls to, save another $49 monthly. .
