Has anyone had experience with this code popping up on their truck?

What is the cause and effect of this code/issue? What is the repair that you had to do?

Where about on the engine is this solenoid valve located?

Is it safe to drive or would I be running the risk of burning up my engine? (Yes, obviously I am going to get it taken care of. Just curious is all)

I recently had my transmission rebuilt, is it possible that the mechanic shop could have caused this? I had zero engine issues prior to them touching my truck.

I drive a 2016 Chevy Silverado Z71 5.3L V8

Any information is welcomed!

If its truly the solenoid its an easy fix.  Part is about 150 bucks and an hour of labour.

However, This is exactly how the oil pump failure shows.

I would get the work done to change the solenoid.  If you get the code back its the oil pump.

The oil pump is cheap but its something like 17 hours to replace.

Dont wait.  An oil pump failure turn into a motor replacement very very quickly.

How many miles on your truck? How frequently do you change your oil?

P06DD in GM land, high probability it needs an oil pump.  Why?  GM doesn't sell the solenoid separately, its serviced only with the pump.

It appears the aftermarket makes a solenoid for it now though???  If so, start there.

sorry but the oil pump solenoid is not a simple job.  the part is cheap, only $15 at rockauto.com but requires a lot of work.  its around a 4-5 hour job.  all fluids drained, front engine cover off.  its not an hour job.

I was having the code but also had a lifter explode.  I had the dod delete kit installed and a new oil pump and solenoid installed at the same time.
