Service 4wd problem

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

on my 2000 Silverado 2500 with the 6.0, I am getting the service 4wd message. It happens while driving in 2wd or when I shift to 4 auto, 4 hi or lo. The fact that the light comes on after a few minutes of driving in 2wd is kind of confusing. I know the 4wd engages because when I put it in hi lo, it’s nearly impossible to turn the wheel. All help is greatly appreciated.

edit:

I also get the p2700 engine code which my reader says is the trans friction element but I don’t see much online about that code. Transmission appears to shift alright. I have attached screenshots of all of my trouble codes.

I got the svc 4wd code once, I cleaned the sensor plug on the axle directly under the oil pan and I never got another repeat of that code.
